Calendext privacy policy

Calendext is a Chrome extension that lets you view and manage Google Calendar events and Google Tasks together from your browser toolbar.

Who operates Calendext

Calendext is operated by Jamgo Labs Ltd. In this policy, references to the operator or support team mean Jamgo Labs Ltd. The company is responsible for personal information you send to its support team. The extension's calendar and task processing is described separately below. Information used

With your permission, Calendext accesses your calendar list, calendar settings, events, task lists and dated tasks. Event information can include titles, dates, times, descriptions, locations, calendar identifiers and event links. Task information can include titles, due dates, notes and completion status.

Calendar identifiers can contain email addresses. Google API responses may also include event participants or other event metadata; Calendext keeps the event fields it uses for display and editing in its local cache. Preferences include your selected calendars, theme, view, time zone and time format.

Calendext uses this information only to display your schedule and carry out actions you request, such as creating, editing, deleting or completing an item. It does not read your Gmail messages. Bookings already added to Google Calendar are accessed through the Calendar API.

When you save changes, Calendext sends the relevant event or task fields to Google.

Permissions

Chrome Identity connects your Google account. Calendar and Tasks access lets Calendext retrieve your schedule and save changes you request. Calendar settings access supplies preferences such as time zone and time format. Chrome storage saves your preferences and cache. The extension does not request access to your browsing history or the contents of the tabs you visit.

The current build also requests basic Google profile and email permissions, although Calendext does not call the profile service or use those details for a separate account or mailing list.

Storage and transfers

Your preferences and a cache of calendar and task data are stored locally in Chrome's extension storage. This helps Calendext display previously loaded information when a request fails. Cached data remains until it is replaced or the extension's stored data is removed.

Calendext uses local storage, not Chrome's storage-sync service. There is no automatic time-based expiry for the cache. Revoking Google access does not itself erase data already cached in Chrome. Calendext does not add its own encryption to the local cache; protection depends on your device and Chrome profile security.

Calendext sends authenticated requests directly to Google's Calendar and Tasks APIs over HTTPS. Google handles sign-in through Chrome Identity; Calendext does not receive your Google password. The extension does not save access tokens in its own persistent storage. Chrome manages its authentication-token cache.

The extension does not send your calendar or task data to a developer-operated server, analytics service or advertising service. It does not sell data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. Its calendar and task requests go directly to Google to provide the requested functionality. Your choices

Connecting your Google account is optional, but Calendext needs the relevant permissions to load and manage your real schedule. You can choose which calendars and tasks appear in Calendext. Hiding a calendar is a display preference, not revocation of Google access. You can revoke Calendext's access through your Google Account's third-party connections settings. Removing the extension removes its local extension storage; it does not delete events or tasks from your Google account. Items you deliberately delete through Calendext are deleted through Google's APIs.

Google API limited use

Calendext's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendext also complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy's Limited Use requirements.

Support

Contact calendext-support@jamgolabs.com with privacy or support questions. Avoid sending private event or task details unless necessary. Information you voluntarily send for support is used to respond to your request and is handled in a company Microsoft 365 shared mailbox; it is separate from the extension's local data processing.

Support messages can include your email address, display name, message and any attachments you choose to send. Messages and replies are accessible to authorised company personnel and are reviewed manually. Microsoft provides the email service. The extension does not give support staff remote access to your local calendar cache. You can use the support address to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you have sent for support.

We retain support correspondence, including messages, replies and attachments, for up to three years after the enquiry is resolved, to handle follow-up questions and recurring issues. At the end of that period, we delete or anonymise it unless a documented legal obligation or legal claim requires longer retention. Archived messages are subject to the same retention period.

Google processes sign-in and API requests under its own privacy policy. Opening a link from Calendext takes you to the relevant service, which handles that visit under its own policies.

Website

The Calendext website provides product information and this privacy policy. It does not ask you to sign in or connect your Google account. Visiting the website does not give it access to your Google Calendar events or Google Tasks.

The website contains no analytics scripts, advertising, contact forms or embedded third-party content. Its images are served with the website. Contact links open your email application; any message you send is handled as described in the Support section.

Our selected website host, Cloudflare Pages, processes technical request information to deliver and protect the website. This can include your IP address, requested URL, request time and browser information. This hosting activity is separate from the extension's local calendar cache. We do not maintain a separate archive of website visitor logs. Cloudflare's operational retention depends on the information and purposes described in its privacy policy, including providing, securing and maintaining its services.

Legal bases and service providers

We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to support enquiries, handling follow-up issues and operating a reliable, secure website. We limit the information used for these purposes and consider your privacy rights. Where we must process information to comply with a legal obligation, we rely on that obligation. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us.

Microsoft provides our company email service and Cloudflare provides website hosting. These providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Their data protection terms provide safeguards for applicable international transfers, including standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum where required. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your information. These arrangements do not mean that all data is stored exclusively in the UK.

Privacy requests and complaints

Contact Calendext Support about your personal information. Depending on the applicable law and the processing involved, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or receive a copy of your information, and to restrict its use.

You may also have the right to object to how your personal information is used. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Removing Google's authorisation stops future authorised access; removing the extension clears its local storage.

You can raise a data protection complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority.

Changes

Changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes to data use will be explained before the changed behaviour is introduced.
